“Karma”
is an ongoing art project of Rinaldo Hopf dealing with the human condition
in our times of fundamental crisis and change. He is painting approximately
100 people from all walks of life: men, women and children of all age
groups, nationalities, races and creeds. The life size watercolour portraits
depict the nude figure set against a neutral black background that enhances
the intensity of the colours and also evokes depth, as well as timelessness.
Meant as an artistic and spiritual reflection on some of the positive
aspects of globalisation, this developing body of work forms a large installation
that is projected to travel to art centers in Europe and all over the
world.
Rinaldo lives and works as a painter, photographer and curator in Berlin,
the German countryside and Auroville, India. He has published two books
of his photography, “Subversiv”, 2004 and “Amore”,
2006 and is the art editor of the international anthology “Mein
schwules Auge / My gay Eye”, Konkursbuch Claudia Gehrke. |
